Sandy Anghie for a Full Time Full Term Lord Mayor

Week 6 Campaign update.

Full Time, Full Term Lord Mayor

I guarantee that if elected as Perth Lord Mayor, I will serve a full term. If you have a vision for your city, you need to stay the course so you can implement it.

It’s what voters expect, and with me – it’s what they will get.

Enrol to vote

To be eligible to vote in the October local government election and have a direct say in the future of our city, all residents and businesses must be correctly enrolled by Friday 25th of August.

To enrol to vote, follow these steps:

  1. Click the “enrol to vote” button below to go to my website. Scroll down on the home page of my website and click the “enrol to vote” button there.

  2. This will take you to a City of Perth website. Click “How do I enrol”.

  3. Fill out the relevant forms depending on your status as a: resident; property owner; or leaseholder.

  4. Then send these forms back to the City of Perth.

The boundaries of the City take in the CBD, Northbridge, East Perth, Claisebrook Cove, West Perth, Crawley and part of Nedlands.

I encourage you to make sure you can have your say in who represents our capital city by enrolling to vote before the 25th of August.

A vote for Sandy Anghie as Lord Mayor is a vote for a modern, progressive city, that truly grabs the opportunities in front of it. The best way forward for Perth is together.

Volunteer

Each week my volunteers and I hit the streets of our City Neighbourhoods door knocking. We’ll be doing this throughout the campaign and we need your help to chat with other local community members and spread the word about my vision for the city. Interested in helping? My Plan for the City

Record of delivery. As a Councillor for the City, I have a strong record of delivery, progressing things that matter across our City’s communities - including our Tech Community, LGBTQIA+ Community, Multicultural Community and Neighbourhoods.

I have put forward practical ideas that have been supported by a majority of Council, including the Main Street Refresh Program, Laneway Revitalisation, Sustainability Incentives, Permanent Light Installations and more. There is so much we can do to make our City even better every day of the week.

City of Neighbourhoods. As your Lord Mayor, I will prioritise a focus on Perth’s unique neighbourhoods - our City’s villages - fostering their unique identities to make them even better places for people. This will help drive population increase where we need it, increase activity and create an enhanced sense of community.

This is something residents across the City tell me all the time. Words on a page is not enough. It needs to be front of mind every day, with budget to back it up. For great neighbourhoods we need constant tending and investing.

24 Hour City. The day I announced my candidacy, I also announced my vision for Perth as a 24 hour city.

By harnessing our nighttime economy potential, opening our streets, malls and laneways up to small bars, restaurants and other attractions we can create a safer, more vibrant and inclusive city where people come to live, play, work and study.

With more people in the City, more businesses can operate and safety will be enhanced through passive surveillance and increased activity.

Youth City. If elected at the October 21st election, I will implement the City of Perth’s first ever Youth Action Plan.

By being actively engaged in youth-friendly spaces and events, young people have an investment in their city and community, developing a strong sense of ownership in these places.

Young people are the future of Perth and my Youth Action Plan will engage young people to drive our City’s success. With multiple schools, universities and TAFE in our community, and more students arriving soon with the new ECU City campus, there has never been a more important time to engage the young people in our City.

In addition to commitments I have announced to date, I will be announcing a range of further commitments over the coming months. And I will be listening to you - our City’s residents, businesses and community groups. I look forward to hearing your ideas and feedback.

Week 6 update

Since announcing my campaign for Perth Lord Mayor six weeks ago, I have been visiting residents and businesses across our City neighbourhoods every day to get their direct feedback on what we can do better. Great cities of the world are always striving to be better.

If you would like to hear more about my campaign platform, or have your own ideas about what the City could do better, I would be pleased to catchup. Please don’t hesitate to reach out via helloperth@sandyanghie.com

I will be back in touch with regular campaign updates. In the meantime, here is a link to my campaign website.
