I’m Sandy Anghie, and I want to be your Perth Lord Mayor – full time, and for a full term. Our City deserves a Lord Mayor who is 100% committed to the City of Perth Community and Local Government.

I became an architect because I saw design as critical to creating a sense of community and spaces where people want to live and play – not just work.

I want the city of Perth to fulfill its promise as a world class city: a place of opportunity for my daughter, and a vibrant 24-hour community for residents, businesses and visitors. A city of neighborhoods, a sustainable city, a creative city, a tech city - and so much more.

At 49 years, I have a strong skill set across law, commerce, design and governance accumulated over my 25 year career; first as a lawyer for ten years, now as an architect and board member, and as a Councillor for the City of Perth.

As President of the Australian Institute of Architects WA my role is to collaborate with key industry groups, the State Government and others to improve the quality of the built environment for the community. As co-creator of Perth Design Week, which launched earlier this year, I worked with Perth based designers to showcase the breadth of the local design community through a week-long event in the CBD. Prior to my time on Council I worked to revitalise the East End of the CBD.

I’ve dedicated my life to finding new ways to improve peoples’ experience of their surroundings. And I’ve dedicated my life to delivering on those improvements.

As your Lord Mayor, I will continue my record of delivery.

As your Lord Mayor I will work to deliver my Platform:

I will continue working with all community groups, businesses and our residents to foster inclusive communities, empower City neighbourhoods, and make Perth one of the most liveable cities in the world.

Because the best way forward for Perth is together.
